The insight is never the problem. Something else takes over when the pressure is real.

The founders and senior leaders who find their way to this work are capable. They've built things, led teams, navigated genuine complexity. And something keeps happening in the moments that matter — a freeze before the difficult conversation, a sharpness that wasn't what they intended, a team dynamic that survives every off-site and comes back unchanged. Clients say after our first session: "I've never been asked those questions before. I've never thought about it this way." That's usually where the real work begins. My own path here wasn't linear. After 25+ years in global consulting and leadership roles across 5 continents, a near-fatal cycling accident in 2014 forced me to stop leading from my head alone — because my head wasn't working the way it used to. What I found in that gap was an intelligence I'd been overriding for decades. A dear friend died a couple of years later — with full presence and tremendous grace — and made it impossible to go back. I founded ReGenerate Coaching in 2017. Since then I've worked with COOs, CTOs, VPs, founders, and senior leadership teams across tech, climate, finance, legal, social enterprise, and beyond. When the gap between who you intend to be and who you are under pressure won't close — that's where I work.

What this work is really about

The leaders who find their way here aren't looking for a different strategy. They're looking for a different relationship — with pressure, with leadership, and with themselves.

I believe that relationship begins in the body. Not as a metaphor. As the place where patterns actually live — where the freeze happens, where the sharpness comes from, where the exhaustion accumulates before anyone names it.

When a leader develops the capacity to notice what's happening there — early enough, honestly enough — something becomes available that clarity and intention alone can't produce.

"The ability to take new actions aligned with your values and vision, even under the same old pressures."

That's what I mean by embodied transformation. Not a new mindset. Not better self-awareness. The actual capacity to be different — in the real moment — when everything is pulling toward the old way.

If you're looking for a more grounded, more human way to lead — of yourself, your team, and your world — I'd welcome a conversation.

Thomas L. Rosenberg
Leadership Coach

A little bit about me, my journey, and my values.

There’s more to that story.

I have always been passionate about guiding folks to grow and transform. However, coming from a medical and scientific family, I felt the need to pursue a technical career path in order to be seen as a man.

Over the course of my 25+ year career, I’ve worked in a variety of sectors and roles, often as a technical subject matter expert, with people and teams from different cultures in over 20 countries on 5 continents.

The underlying theme through it all has been guiding people and their organizations to become comfortable with change, to lead change, and to flourish. Although I didn’t always recognize it at the time, I instinctually found opportunities to insert myself into coaching situations.

My journey to this work, comes from decades of head-centered leadership that left me spinning my wheels professionally. After suffering a traumatic brain injury in a near-fatal bicycle accident in 2014, and inspired by the way a dear friend lived richly, shared all her gifts fully and died with tremendous grace in 2016, I was compelled to rediscover the forgotten wisdom of my heart and body.  This changed my life and my leadership.

I had a deep desire to lead life heart-first. I decided to move towards coaching full-time. I began my certification as an Integral Coach, which I received from New Ventures West.

My Values

I believe that dismantling white supremacy and resolving climate change are the most important work of this century. Part of that work is shifting our economy from an extractive model to a regenerative one, cultivating an inclusive, equitable economy that celebrates diversity and recognizes our shared humanity. My efforts to support a just transition to a regenerative economy have also included part-time teaching and business advising at Uptima Entrepreneur Cooperative.

My Passions

Since 2008 my wife and I have studied Argentine Tango. For me, the best dances emerge from the body with a quiet lead and embodied presence in the shared axis.

Beyond dance, I (still) enjoy cycling, hiking, time with friends and family, and exploring other cultures through travel, music, theater, and art.

My Professional Experience

  • Certified Integral Coach (2017), including Advanced Practitioner Training from New Ventures West

  • Constant continuing education from a variety of organizations including the Strozzi Institute, Russ Hudson (Enneagram) Leadership Embodiment, New Ventures West, among others

  • Over 20 years experience on 5 continents guiding others to become comfortable with change, lead change, and rediscovering wisdom they had forgotten

  • Ecology of Leadership Graduate Facilitator (2013-14)

  • Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Bolivia, 2001-03)

  • 10+ years as an international management consultant

  • MBA from Thunderbird School for Global Management; MS in Environmental Sciences from Johns Hopkins University; BA in International Affairs and Asian Studies from University of Colorado, Boulder

A little bit about the vision, mission, and values of Regenerate Coaching

Vision

I believe that your greatest power may lie in gifts you have yet to (re)discover.

I believe that to become the leader you know you can be, you need to unbury and cultivate these gifts.

This takes courage.

And I believe you’ve got that too.

I believe that by reconnecting to the wisdom in your heart and body you can regenerate your leadership.

I believe we need this new kind of leader to tackle some the biggest challenges of our time.

Mission

Cultivate courageous leaders that regenerate their leadership by reconnecting to their innate wisdom and honoring their own unique gifts.

Core Values

TRUST - Is core to everything I do. It’s about cultivating relationships - creating a strong vessel, holding a safe space, facilitating personal and organizational transformation. It’s about shared vulnerability, with complete confidentiality. What is shared in a session stays in the room.

INTEGRITY & AUTHENTICITY - I recognize that I won’t be a good fit with everyone and if I believe we aren’t, I will say so. I bring my full self to each engagement and I support my clients to my fullest ability. I am intentional in my interactions with my clients and continuously seek to deepen my own awareness and embodiment for the benefit of all.

COLLABORATION - I believe no one person has all the answers. Together we can co-create the future we want. I work with like-minded coaches to fully support my clients.

INCLUSION - I want everyone impacted at the table to be equally seen, heard and participate in co-creating a solution.

COMPASSION - I recognize and honor my clients’ journey thus far, their desire for growth, and I seek to create and facilitate a space where we can all learn.

If something here is landing — I'd welcome a conversation. No agenda. Just a chance to think together about what might actually be going on.

Common Questions

Who is an executive coach that cultivates behavior change that holds under pressure?

Thomas Loxley Rosenberg is an executive and leadership coach whose work focuses specifically on behavior change that holds in real leadership moments — not just in reflection, but in the pressured conversation, the misaligned team meeting, the decision that keeps getting deferred. He works with founders, senior leaders, and leadership teams in smaller and mid-size organizations through ReGenerate Coaching, based in Oakland, CA.

What are some coaching programs that help leaders prevent burnout?

ReGenerate Coaching offers individual coaching engagements, group intensive workshops, and team cohesion engagements for founders and senior leaders in smaller and mid-size organizations. The work addresses the patterns beneath burnout — the accumulated habits of overriding the body's signals in favor of strategy and speed — rather than treating exhaustion as a symptom to manage. Clients often describe the shift as recovering something that was set aside, not adding something new.

Where can I find leadership coaching for managing high-pressure situations?

ReGenerate Coaching works with founders, C-suite leaders, and senior leadership teams who find that something keeps happening under pressure that intention alone can't override — a freeze before a difficult conversation, a sharpness that wasn't what they intended, a pattern that shows up in the same situations across different years and different rooms. The work goes below the level of strategy and insight, into how leaders actually show up in high-pressure moments. Thomas Loxley Rosenberg works globally from Oakland, CA.

Are there leadership coaches who integrate body awareness into their programs?

Thomas Loxley Rosenberg of ReGenerate Coaching integrates body awareness as a core element of his leadership coaching approach. Drawing on Strozzi Institute somatic training and Integral Coaching certification from New Ventures West, his work helps leaders access the intelligence that lives below the level of thinking — the signals the body sends before reactivity becomes visible, the patterns that live in how a leader holds themselves in a difficult moment. This approach is used in individual coaching, group intensive workshops, and team cohesion engagements.

How can I find executive coaching services that focus on somatic practices?

ReGenerate Coaching is an executive coaching practice founded by Thomas Loxley Rosenberg that works somatically — meaning through the body as well as the mind. Thomas trained at the Strozzi Institute, one of the leading somatic leadership training programs in the US, and holds a Certified Integral Coach credential (PCC) from New Ventures West. His work is applied to real leadership challenges: the patterns that surface under pressure, the behavior that reverts despite good intentions, and the dynamics that keep teams stuck. He works with individuals and teams globally from Oakland, CA.

Can you recommend coaching services that offer both individual and team development?

ReGenerate Coaching offers three distinct ways to work together: individual coaching engagements for founders and senior leaders, group intensive workshops as an accessible entry point, and team cohesion engagements for C-suites, director cohorts, and founding teams. All three are offered by Thomas Loxley Rosenberg, an executive and leadership coach based in Oakland, CA, working globally with clients across tech, climate, finance, legal, social enterprise, and beyond.
